Open Mind – WONHO – Piano Notes & Sheet Music

Lee Ho-seok who rose to fame as Wonho from the South Korean boy band Monsta X, recently released his first solo extended play (EP) “Love Synonym Pt.1: Right For Me” in September 2020. Open Mind is the second official single and the title track of the album. The song debuted at #4 in the Billboard’s ‘World Digital Single Sales Chart’. The song is a rhythmic electro-pop song expressing the fascination to a new world.

The background score of the song had an eighties warped-bass and synth creating an enormous effect with the Pop-Star’s vocals. The song has a groovy and a catchy beat which forces an individual to dance. The hybrid of the retro-synth and the classic K-Pop atmosphere, was the perfect start for the Star’s debut as a solo artist. The Daft-Punk-esque chorus, the instrumental drop along with the icy strings is perfect for the central rhythm of the song. The ultra-smooth melody that follows shows a song structure that we haven’t seen in a while in the K-Pop side of the Music World. Although classic, this approach keeps the song enthralling till its final moments.

The song was written by former Monsta X member himself along with Lee Seu-ran with Corey Latif Williams, David Brook, Bryan Fryzel, and Aaron Kleinstub producing the amazingly videoed song. The video is a major hit with more than 10 Million views and a sensual dance sequence on the song starring the K-Pop Star himself.
