Judaai is a Hindi song from the 2015 Bollywood film Badlapur. Arijit Singh and Rekha Bhardwaj sing the tune, which was composed by Sachin–Jigar and have lyrics by Dinesh Vijan Priya Saraiya. Varun Dhawan and Yami Gautam appear in the song’s music video.
The Times of India reported on 22 January 2015 that a song from the film titled “Judaai” will “complete the film’s musical plot” and will be Arijit Singh and Rekha Bhardwaj’s first duet. Bhardwaj and Singh previously collaborated on the film Barfi! (2012), where they performed the original and reprise versions of the song “Phir Le Aya Dil.” Aside from Barfi!, they collaborated on “Kabira” from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), where Bhardwaj sang the original version and Singh sang the encore version. The song was released on January 9, 2015, and completed in 90 minutes. “We waited six months to bring Rekha Bhardwaj and Arijit Singh together for the first time for “Judaai,” said Sachin Sanghvi of the composer duo Sachin–Jigar.
We knew their voices would make the song memorable.” The music video contains several snippets from the film, highlighting different stages of Raghu’s (Varun Dhawan) life. The song “shows how one feels when they are separated from the one they love, particularly under tragic circumstances,” according to India.com. It was conceived as a setback in which Dhawan reminisces about his previous life with his wife and child. Dhawan said that the “video of “Judaai” is actually what Badlapur is, that’s how sensitive the film is,” after selecting the song as his personal favorite from the album. The composition of the song is beautifully done, which makes it very popular amongst pianists around the nation/world who want to learn and play piano notes of this amazing track.Â
